Lubbock Concert Band was started in 2007 by several area band directors. It had long been thought that the Lubbock Community was entirely to large to not have a community band. The response from all over Lubbock County was overwhelming. From the first rehearsal to the last concert of the season the Lubbock Concert Band members have been a critical in shaping our organization. Our members come from all different back grounds, including band directors, computer programmers, lawyers, business men, and even domestic engineers. The concert band is now in it's third season and is off to a great start. The Lubbock Concert Band is led by Dick Clardy.

Dick Clardy was appointed conductor of the Lubbock Concert Band in 2007.  Mr. Clardy is the Executive Director of The Foundation for Music Education and Choice Music Events.
